For all PowerEdge R720 Users:

ICE-PIC series cards are NOT supported on Dell™ PowerEdge™ R720 servers under the default BIOS settings: operation of the cards under the default BIOS settings VOIDS THE WARRANTY.

For proper operation in an R720, the iDRAC thermal settings must be set as follows (see Fig. 1; click to enlarge):

• Thermal Base Algorithm – Maximum performance (Performance optimized)
• User option – Fan speed Offset
• Fan Speed Offset – High Fan Speed Offset

N.B.: UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should User option be set to Maximum Air Exhaust Temperature. Operation under any other settings than those above is not supported and VOIDS THE WARRANTY.
